"Getting Help with Identifications"

"Former Secret Service agent Clint Hill sits down with Kennedy Library metadata catalogers working on our digitization project. During the administration, Mr. Hill was assigned to protect Jacqueline Kennedy, and he became a nationally recognized figure because of his quick action during the events of November 22, 1963. Mr. Hill collaborated with former Secret Service agent Gerald Blaine and writer Lisa McCubbin (in photograph, on Mr. Hill’s left) on the recent book The Kennedy Detail. While here to do research for his own upcoming book with Ms. McCubbin on his experiences guarding Mrs. Kennedy, Mr. Hill took the time to help our archivists and metadata catalogers with some of the unknown people and places in our photographic holdings." For the record, out of the thousands of photographs released (including the many hundreds released the past couple years with Clint Hill's help), I could not find even one misidentification of any agent. Hill was spot-on in this regard.

OFFICIALLY speaking, Floyd Boring, the number two agent of the White House Detail and the official planner of the Texas trip from the Secret Service point-of-view, was at home in Maryland when the assassination happened. However, in newly-released photographs from the JFK Library (and aided in identifications by none other than Clint Hill), agent Boring is depicted by Air Force One as JFK's casket is being transported up the stairway to the plane!

and see ESPECIALLY (Boring also claimed that "he had never spoken with anyone at all in the Secret Service about any aspect of the Kennedy assassination", another statement that is very hard to swallow, especially seeing that Boring founded the Retired Secret Service Agent's Association in 1969...Boring initially claimed that his activities on 11/22/63 "were limited to going directly from his home to Andrews AFB to meet the (new) President 11---and that he escorted President Johnson on his helicopter from Andrews to the White House, after which he went directly home"; the latter part of this statement, that Boring went directly home, is NOT backed up by the documentary record, nor by Boring's own admitted actions. ):

TWO RELATED POSTS FROM A YEAR AGO-
Chuck Zboril: NOT BELIEVABLE: here is the proof
One can sometimes not realize the ramifications of something written years ago and literally under their own nose until the right context comes about. Well, the context came last night in the form of a very predictable one-star review from former Secret Service agent (and dear Gerald Blaine friend and colleague) Chuck Zboril. I harken back to a famous line (one of many) in the Oliver Stone movie “JFK”, wherein Kevin Costner , after making a vital point buried in the 26 volumes of the Warren Commission, says (paraphrased) “but the idea gets shuffled around and the point gets lost.”
TURN TO PAGE 121 OF MY OWN BOOK “SURVIVOR’S GUILT”:
“Blaine even erroneously thought [SAIC Gerald] Behn was on the Florida trip, a testament to the frequency of his [Behn’s] trips with the president.” [author’s interview with Blaine 2/7/04]
TURN TO PAGE 294 OF MY OWN BOOK “SURVIVOR’S GUILT”:
“Zboril was sure that Kellerman, who wasn’t even on the Florida trip, was present in Tampa: “I thought it was Roy Kellerman, not Boring, in the car on the Tampa trip…that’s my recollection.” [author’s interview with Chuck Zboril 11/15/95]
Beyond just the general credibility gap issues, by this specific “recollection” of a supervisory agent OTHER THAN FLOYD M. BORING having been on the Florida trip and having rode in the presidential limousine, these two fine gentlemen have, independent of one another, totally impeached ole Blaine’s book “The Kennedy Detail” even further: how can Blaine write so authoritatively that he heard BORING over the radio relaying JFK’s alleged instruction to remove Zboril and Lawton from the rear of the limousine WHEN HE CAN’T EVEN GET THE NAME OF THE ACTUAL AGENT IN CHARGE OF THE TRIP AND RIDING IN THE PRESIDENTIAL LIMOUSINE CORRECT?
Likewise, how in the world can Zboril vouch for Blaine and his book when he, perhaps in an even worse case of “faulty memory”, ALSO CANNOT GET THE NAME OF THE ACTUAL AGENT IN CHARGE OF THE TRIP AND RIDING IN THE PRESIDENTIAL LIMOUSINE CORRECT…AND BORING WAS THE AGENT WHO ALLEGEDLY RELAYED THIS ORDER/ KIND ANECDOTE/ PRESIDENTIAL WISH (TAKE YOUR PICK) *TO* ZBORIL!
I agree with the headline of your review, Mr. Zboril- YOU are “not believable.”
Postscript: it is a total non-issue about Boring telling the agents to not ride on the rear of the limousine right before the Texas trip. I BELIEVE this indeed happened (page 43 of my book) and I also have no doubt that, had I spoke to many of Blaine’s colleagues circa late 1963-1965 (or perhaps even later), those gentlemen would have “rained on my parade” in droves and told me the fib that JFK ordered the agents off his limo (bottom of page 52 of my book). The point is the credibility of this action by Boring, NOT that Boring performed this action of telling the agents not to ride there (albeit disobeyed by Agent Clint Hill- 4 times- on Main Street in Dallas!). It was only with the advent of time, the release of films, photos, records, the ARRB, the internet, etc., as well as contacting WHITE HOUSE AIDES/ NON-SECRET SERVICE AGENTS like Dave Powers with no horse in the race (no reason to lie and cover-up) that the truth came out. Take your pick: were the agents lying in 1963-1965 or were they lying to myself? Does lying=credibility? Does lying destroy one’s belief in someone’s integrity? You be the judge. My verdict is my book. [please see chapter one of my book for much more]
To blame JFK for his own death is a vulgar, shameful, and cowardly thing to do…repeat that once again, former agents: vulgar, shameful, and cowardly. Thank God I spoke to Gerald Behn on 9/27/92 (6+ months before his death) and, on several occasions between 1993-1997, Floyd Boring, among many others (Win Lawson and Art Godfrey, to name a few more). Otherwise, there would be no reason for Blaine’s 2010 book and the public would just believe the lies from late 1963-1965 instead.

CHUCK ZBORIL AND THE WARREN REPORT:

Chuck Zboril and the Warren Report
Chuck Zboril recently stated on Amazon.Com that Agent David Grant was NOT an advance agent on JFK’s trip to Florida. THE WARREN REPORT even states that Agent David Grant was indeed an advance man on JFK’s trip to Tampa (WR page 445). Zboril thought ASAIC Kellerman, not ASAIC Boring, was on the Florida trip (Palamara, page 294) . Gerald Blaine thought SAIC Gerald Behn, not ASAIC Floyd Boring, was on the Florida trip (Palamara, page 121)….it was ASAIC Floyd Boring alone.
Oops.
